hey Eric,
Been lurking a bit and listening to your podcast on and off for a few months now and this one made me want to speak up. I'm non-military but grew up with those values and having just about all my family in. I learned to shoot early on as a kid and picked up typical tactics from different guys and later with my brother and friend being rangers and now cops and having other cop friends that were seals. I've done a couple shoot house cqb runs but when it comes down to it... I don't know a damn thing. I haven't ever been in a fire-fight or had rounds pass my head etc. So as far as I'm concerned I'm not prepared as much as I want to be.

I've looked into a few courses but always felt stupid going as I didn't have a military experience and honestly I didn't want to be the FNG in the group of guys who've done tours and wondering wtf I was doing there.

Listening to that guys story on your podcast kind of just made me think that no matter what, with the AR's I have now and various pistols that I really need to get into a serious training course. One I think I'd totally enjoy it and 2 I'd get invaluable experience that I'll never be able to get but so badly need if the shit ever hits the fan. I'd hope they'd welcome noobs and understand what I'm trying to get out of the course and accept that. You'd know about it better than I would.

I'm up in Phx so if you know anything local to hit that'd be great. Anyways... thx for the show, I like it and will continue to listen and cheers!

Eric,

I enjoy your podcasts very much and look forward to them each week. The story you read about Paul was excellent. I listened to it three times in a row. I live in Michigan and want to take some advanced training classes but don't know exactly who to turn to or how much it would cost. What is your thoughts on the types of training with my primary handgun and the cost. It seems some people are out for the money and others want to train you because they know we all should be trained. I don't mind paying but I want someone with the attitude of you or even Daniel Shaw. Please comment about the affordability of training and what will be learned in class. I would like to have my wife and children all take at least one class and realize I can't put a price tag on there lives but I'm not the type to throw hard earned money out the window, especially in this economy. Keep up the good work.
