Mostly Feedback – 082

In the wake of the Haiti earthquake, this episode wound up becoming a little… distracted. There’s a lot of little feedback about stuff, and reaching back into past episodes. Despite all that, I still talk about my fantasy of one day buying a fine, new production Colt pistol again, and our desperate need for common sense power drill legislation.

Bacon bits in your hollow points nice one Eric.Liberal podcast is a great show i enjoy it also.
Eric,
Enjoyed your podcast. First time I’ve listended to it. Glad to hear “Jenny” has you giddy like a schoolgirl.
However, (didn’t you know there would be a “however” in there somewhere?) I have to disagree with you about your comments regarding people with “middle of the road” or “moderate” politics. I consider myself neither liberal nor conservative. Does that mean I have “no principles” or “no backbone?” No. It simply means I’m not an extremist. In my experience, if someone can label themselves as liberal or conservative, it generally means they’ve had too much kool-aid from one of the competing dogma-machines. I am pro-choice, in favor of gay marriage (althouth I think the govt should stay out of marriage completely…), in favor of decriminalization of recreational drugs, supportive of universal healthcare, and don’t think immigration is that big a deal. So that makes me a liberal huh? Well, I also am strongly in favor of the death penalty, the right to bear arms, increased budget for military and law enforcement, abolition of affirmative action, against the idea of classifying crimes as “hate crimes,” and I think the Toyota Prius is a piece of junk. So that makes me a conservative, huh?
I also think the wall of separation between church and state needs to be rebuilt at least to the state it was in prior to the 1950′s. I take my position on this issue and the ones mentioned above seriously, and stand behind them. But, if I was going to use an online dating site, like the one you mentioned in the podcast, I would probably have no other choice than to select the checkbox next to “middle of the road” when it comes to politics. I have yet to see a checkbox that says “rational” or “non-extremist, non-wackjob” on any web site that asks such a question.
Hopefully that made sense and you’ll see the minor (yet understandable) error in your ways.
Keep up the good work.

P.S. – I don’t fit into the Libertarian bucket either. Just had to nip that one in the bud.
Eric:
I wish Colt would make a come back but its not going to happen. Colt turn their back againt their own customers. They sided with the enmey ( the Clinton Gun Ban Clowns) and in return Gun Owners do not want to have do anything with Colt anymore. If you know Colts pass history from past two deicades that had too many changes of mangments and as a result Colt kill it self and it own legacey. DO not get me wrong I love Colt and its wounderfull history but we must expect the fact that Colt is no longer comapny it once was.
The colt your thinking of i believe is the “Python”
i remember the game as well.

I have been listening to your podcast for a few weeks. You are a very talented young man.Great show. I also, like your pro-self defense stand for the Second Amendment. I am a handgun man also, and recently purchased a Sig Sauer P229 all blue SAS Gen 2 .40 caliber pistol, and love it. The short reset trigger is great. I hope you talk about the NRA shot show handgun displays this week or next. I would like to hear your opinions on some of the new handguns. Keep up the good work.
